A NEW BEGINNING

10
I just love that title! it makes me feel refreshed!

I have been neglecting my blog this month a bit getting ready for my brand new website www.limorwebber.com  that literally launched yesterday evening with on-line workshops, shop, Gallery and more!
I can't begin to tell you how long I've been wanting this to happen and it has finally come true!

The site was created with the user in mind! yes YOU!!!
For a couple years now I have been asked for on-line workshops, to purchase things from me and a place to go and get inspired.

The second reason the site was created because as the "Limor Webber Designs" starts to grow ( yup there's a few things cooking up this year!) we needed a place to have them showcased for you!

The third reason this site was created is because I wanted to have a place for all the on-line workshops to be in one place and for those that cannot attend my classes around the world have the opportunity to take some classes from me from their comfort of their own home.

The launch last night was a huge success!!!!! We had an overwhelming amount of response and I couldn't be more thankful for you love and support.
Currently the shop portion of the site shows our of stock for physical items but will be up within a week or two once all the product arrives here.

If you haven't registered in the site you can go ahead and do that so that you will receive updates once new things are added and more classes go up.  Classes will be loaded on the site regularly so you don't want to miss the opportunity to register.
The question I've been getting asked is "Do the classes expire? absolutely not! you will have the videos available for you at any time on the website ;).

For a little sneak peak in to the classes here is a little video trailer for you!

Thank you all so much for stopping by!!

Things happen.....

28
February Once Upon a Sketch

THINGS HAPPEN.........

So here I was sitting at my desk ahead of my creative schedule, super happy with my progress, listening to some awesome tunes when the layout for this month's February Once Upon a Sketch challenge was complete!

Woohoo I scream 1 down 100 more projects to go!!!!
AND THEN!!!!!!!....my creative mind just couldn't put it to rest so I decide to grab my Lindy's bottle ( black of all colours) and decide it needs just one little detail to make this layout complete and then this happens.........

YES..and entire bottle of Toto's Tornado black on my finished layout....and the floor
After a good cry and a bit of encouragement from some of my crafty friends I decide to pull it out of the trash can and revive it.  What you can't see is that as I lifted the layout paint went everywhere and punctured a hole in the paper completely so there was some serious surgery to be done.....
I slapped on my gloves and gave this layout a bit of CPR

Is this my favorite layout?! NO!! but when life gives you lemons you make lemonade!!
A little Lindy's Glitter, stencils, gesso, Prima flowers and washi tape was all it needed to bring this page back to life ;).  What you can't see like a good surgeon I am is the incredible stitch work where the page ripped underneath all that gesso ;).

Here is a couple more close ups

Now it's your turn to create a masterpiece.... as you can tell by this story I share is that it really doesn't matter how perfect your project is you can still put it out there for others to enjoy.  There really isn't such thing as perfection anyway so give yourself some freedom to make mistakes and enjoy the creative process.
We can't wait to see your incredible submissions!!

Prima February Build A Page Layout

5
It is not often I get to participate in the Build A Page series by Prima Marketing due to my busy schedule but I couldn't resist this month as the sketch simply rocks!!
Check it out!

Here is my take on it

I loved the color combo the sketch had so I decided to use it.  Previously in the day I was creating a layout and spilled paint all over it by mistake and it created a cool paint dripping effect.  I decided to do a "controlled" version of the pain spill using my Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabios

I'm particularly fond of the new Stamps designed by Jamie Dougherty for Prima so I decided to use it in a more un-traditional artsy way.

Here it is up close

Don't you just love Prima's new Stain stencil!! I think it's my new fave!

I hope you enjoyed this little sneak and be sure to head on over to the Prima Blog <--- for more inspiration by our very talented design team.

January Color Challenge - Lindy's Stamp Gang

9
Let me start off by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
2013 was an incredible year, and just like every year it had its ups and it had it's downs but there's something really refreshing about the thought of a clean slate.  With that said why don't we start off this year with a little creative challenge?
Every Month Lindy's Stamp Gang has what we call a Color Challenge <<<--- Link - where you get to chose 2 or more colors from the palette provided and create a project of your choice.

Here is January's colours

And here is the layout I created

I often find myself creating a challenge in my art so that it pushes me as an artist.  For this challenge I wanted to contain my creation in a small space on the page and be able to use "White Space" without adding anything to it.  I have to say it was a challenge, my inner instinct was to junk up the page and cover it up with a ton of sprays and embellishments but what I found at the end of my creation was that I can actually do it and I love the result.  I encourage you to give yourself a challenge and step out of your comfort zones every once in a while and watch how you grow as an artist.
Don't forget to head on over to the Lindy's Stamp Gang Blog to check out the details on the challenge and to see all the other fabulous projects by our amazing designers.
