Heart This Layout by Sherry Bienert

2

Hey my fabulous crafty friends! Sherry here with a beautiful, color filled layout using a variety of mediums and techniques. Today I will be featuring magicals, molding paste and gesso, so dig into your stash and play along!

First here is the full layout.

Lets get started,

I recently got the Lindy's Stamp Gang, Limor Webber Designs, Industrial Chic Starburst Sprays and Magicals. I fell in love from the first spray! I started using two contrasting colors (Time Travel Teal and Bonjour Butter from the Tres Chic Collection).  I started with the Bonjour Butter spraying  in the middle of the page and  dragging the spray towards the edges as I spray. Allow to dry, then repeat these steps with the Time Travel Teal.  Drying between each color, prevents the colors from totally blending.

NOTE: I left the barcode strip on because, I like to wrap it around my chipboard backing once the spray is dry.

To create more texture (Oh, I love texture!) I used a stencil and molding paste to accentuate the area where the photo will be. Allow to dry by itself, to keep any ridges and variances in the paste.  You can use a heat gun, but sometimes this can cause the paste to puff up, and lose some of the ridges and texture in your paste.

At this point I adhered the paper to a 12x12 piece of chipboard using matte gel medium. I find that using gel medium, as opposed to tape adhesive, on the entire chipboard piece helps to prevent bubbles and buckling in the paper.  I folded the barcode strip under the chipboard and adhered it onto the back, this also helps me to keep note of the paper used, for future reference.

Next up are my most used most loved stamps, my Limor Webber Designs Rugged Edge border stamps from IndigoBlu. I adore these because they are so versatile. They can be hard and distinct or soft and subtle! Keeping in mind where my photo will be placed at the end, I made impressions of the border stamps using black ink. I wanted the images to be crisp, clean and distinct.

This was my FAVORITE part of the whole process. Once I finished I almost didn't want to cover it with anything else, I almost didn't complete this project!

One of my new fav mediums was up next. Magicals have found their way into my heart and have been a staple in a lot of my recent projects. They are so versatile and can be used in so many ways, today I will sprinkle and use water to create drips and layers!

I used a variety of magical colors (Rusty Lantern, Summer Lovin Sun, T-Bird Turquoise and Shabby Turbine Teal) to create a ton of layers, color drips and blending. I started with my lightest colors and worked my way darker. I also did a lot of layers before I was happy. Starting with that lightest color I sprinkled it onto the horizontal plane along the centre of the page, then I sprayed it with water and tilted the paper to allowed it to drip both up and down the page. Allow your page to completely dry between each layer of color. I find that as you add colors, vibrancy increases.

Now the layering and embellishments go on! I created a clear banner out of a transparency sheet to place behind my photo.  I stamped it with the Rugged Edge Stamps,  and used the same stencil as in the second step to apply molding paste. I mounted my photo using foam dots onto this banner. Triple up on the foam dots for extra depth, and allowing my photo to extend to the depth of the floral cluster.

Keeping with some simple, neutral colored flowers of soft blues and yellows, I layered a few along each side of the banner. A few of the small flowers have wire stems so I curled them around a paintbrush handle and let them stick out from the edges of the arrangement.

I applied white gesso to the flowers. This gives the flowers a similar tone, and acts as a primer for the next step.  Allow the gesso to dry.  Do not heat set this, as it could scorch the fabric on the flowers, and cause it to burn or shrink.

Sprinkle the same magical colors onto the flowers and a bit onto the molding paste on the banner. Then spray with water. Allow them to bleed and blend into each other. Again wait for them to dry. I applied a second layer of magical color to increase the vibrancy of the tones.

VOILA layout complete! Here are a few close ups of this little gem!

Mixed Media Journal Page - Techniques with Gelatos

17

Hi ! It's Vicky here today and I am happy to share a page of my mixed media journal.

Today's post will feature Limor's Signature Lines from IngoBlu and Lindy's Stamp Gang:

IndigoBlu Stamps designed by Limor - Rugged Edges Stamp

I have started this journal a while back and I want to turn it into a flower themed one. So each page will feature flowers as the focal point. This journal is the Mixed Media Mini Journal Boards  by Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®   I love the pages on this journal, because they are nice and thick. They are actually chipboard pages that can take mediums, water or heat with no problem!

The background, all the shading and the coloring of the flowers was done using gelatos. In the how-to video below you will see how easy they are to use and blend. I am also sharing a great technique for shading your focal elements.

Shading is vital if you want your images to pop. I love the vibrant background in this layout and you will be surprised to find out how easy it is to make. I have also used one stamp from the "Rugged Edge" set by Limor Webber to do some embossing on the edges. This really frames my art.

You can watch a step by step video tutorial on how I made this page below:

Thank you all for visiting today! Have a great and creative day :)

Colorful Mixed Media Cards With Wilma

2
    Hi,  Wilma here today.

I would love to show you some colorful Mixed media Cards, and how to make them. For these cards you can take out acrylic paint, watercolor or whatever you have. I have a process video,  but will show you some closeups first.

In today's cards, I will showcase these new IndigoBlu Limor Webber Designs Signature stamps -

Let's get started...

Add color with whatever medium of paint that you choose.

Then add some random stamping (Here I used the rugded edges stamps from Limor)

Next a little contrasting, Black a white, washi tape.

For additional interest create patterns with acrylic paint and stencils .

Then add a thin layer of medium.

Some mediums you could use.

Here is a quick video showing how I finished the cards:

As you can see the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

                                                                 Thanks for watching
                                                                          x Wilma x

Lotus Tag by Zoey

4

Hello everyone!

Zoey's here and today we will create together a very special TAG!

I always loved this quote, "May you exist like the Lotus, at ease in muddy water", since my first yoga less. Yes, Yes, I know, Yoga is more than just a pretty quote...but since I started doing yoga I also started reading quotes about yoga, I am so a stereotype! LOL.

Anyway, the brand new stamp collection by Limor Webber Designs and IndigoBlu : "Lotus" Limor Webber Designs Stamps by IndigoBlu was simply perfect! I love how detailed this stamp is.

As always the base of my projects are upcycled cardboard, so I cut this into a tag shape, and using a brayer, I applied Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso. I left some spot without Gesso because I wasn't trying to cover the entire piece, I was just going to add texture.

I randomly cut a few pieces of paper from an old German dictionary and some scraps from Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap and using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium I adhered these pieces to the background, overlapping some. Then with a baby wipe I added some more Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso

I colored the background with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gelatos (Pistachio and Cinnamon) and I also added some texture through the stencil "Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Stencil Mini Sketch Grid". After heat setting the modeling paste, I stamped the "Lotus" Limor Webber Designs Stamps by IndigoBlu with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Stamper's Big Brush Pen Chrome Green

With Lindy's Stamp Gang "Industrial Chic" Magicals by Limor Webber Designs I highlighted the texture I created with the modeling paste.

I stamped the "Lotus" Limor Webber Designs Stamps by IndigoBlu, two times over a piece of Manila Cardstock. The first one I left it whole, the second one, I cut all the petals and then adhered to the first stamped image using foam adhesive. To add some color and shine I used again Lindy's Stamp Gang "Industrial Chic" Magicals by Limor Webber Designs.

All that was left to do was to write the quote, and cut it out in smaller pieces and adhered them to the tag. I also added some stamps in the background using "Rugged Edge Stamp" Limor Webber Design stamp by IndigoBlu and some black ink drips with Liquitex Professional Acrylic Ink - Carbon Black.

Here are some photos showing details of the project...

And here's the whole project...

What do you think about it? I hope you will like it! I had so much fun playing with all these great products that you can easily find in Limor’s Store. See below the complete list of materials I have used!

Stay happy, stay creative…till next time!

Father's Day Card by Tonya Gibbs

4

Hi everyone, Tonya here today - with Father's Day around the corner, I thought it would be fun to create a mixed media card for my Dad using some of the awesome products from Limor Webber Designs.    Today's feature is going to be Limor's Industrial Chic Collection from Lindy's Stamp Gang, and her new stamps from IndigoBlu - A6 Splattered  Heart Stamp, and the Limor Circles.  All of the products will be linked up at the end of this post for your convenience.

Limor's Signature Industrial Chic Collection from Lindy's Stamp Gang
In today's Post we are going to use the Rusty Lantern Lime, and Time Travel Teal.

Grunge is always a great way to start out a masculine card.  So I decided to stamp the
A6 Splatter Heart Stamp with Versa Ink and heat emboss it in white.  The white will stand out against the darker elements on my card, and the melted embossing powder will give the card texture, and resist the liquid sprays.

Just look at all the yummy texture!     I used the IndigoBlu Limor's Circles Stamp with the screen pattern to add additional interest to my card backing and embellishments.    Tim Holtz' Ephemera Pack - Expedition is where I found the "Special Delivery Sign" and the pointing finger.

I have been inspired by Sherry's previous posts to use my Magicals from Lindy's Stamp Gang.  On the clock you can see where I used the "Coco Bean Copper" Magicals with Gel Medium from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® to create a thick paste.  Then dabbed it onto the Prima Wood Veneer Clock Face to make it look like corroded metal.  LOVE this effect.   Thanks Sherry for the Inspiration.

No project is complete without splatters of black ink, right?  So I used a long bristled liner brush with India Ink  to add them, and to write the word DAD.

Here is a process video showing how this card came together.

And here is a glimpse at my finished card. Isn't it amazingly grungy?  I think my hands may be permanently stained with Lindy's Stamp Gang -  but that's all part of the fun!

Thanks for hanging out with me today, I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial, and have been inspired to create a masculine card with these amazing products.

As Long As We Are Together

2

Hi everyone! Sherry here with a layout using a blank water color paper to create my own background! So pull out your stash, play with some color and lets create together! In my last post, I shared with you my love for Magicals by Lindy's Stamp Gang. Today I wanted to share with you another awesome technique using this amazing product.

I started with a blank piece of water color paper. on my clean dry craft mat I sprinkled my two magical colors (summer lovin' sun and t-bird turquoise) keeping them close but not right on top of each other. (keep in mind where/how you want the color on your background) Spray it with water to activate the fabulousness of the Magicals. I started by laying my paper on the color in the middle of sheet. Then I dragged it towards the top, then dragged towards the bottom. (re apply color in this process will your happy with the mixture! Allow to dry.

I applied whipped spackle through the 'cobblestone' stencil. I also applied a bit more of this same stencil along the edges of my photo. Allow both to dry.

I placed the photo where it will be in the end and traced around it with a Stabilo pencil. I sprayed the lines lightly with water and allowed to bleed. I LOVE the effect of the Stabilo what water is added!

Apply some adhesive over some areas of the cobblestone and sprinkle some glass beads (butter) onto the adhesive and lightly press them into the glue. Allow to dry.

Here is a close up of the glass beads.  The adhesive will dry clear, and the glass beads will be stuck for life.

Using IndigoBlu Limor Webber Designs stamps sets (border stamps and ink splats) and Lindy's Stamp Gang, Limor Webber Designs embossing powder (bonjour butter and chateau rose), I made impressions around the edges of where Stabilo pencil line.

Using Tim Holtz rub-ons I applied some images around the bottom right edges of the area the photo will be. Also add a few at the bottom right edge of the photo.

Using leftover pieces of small chain, I loosely laid it around the edges of the photo. once it was laid where I liked it, I applied small dots of liquid adhesive on different points of the chain to hold it in place. Allow to dry.

I had some scraps of cut off paper holes from a watercolor paper pad kicking around. So I stamped these pieces with more Limor Webber Designs 'border stamp' set with black ink. using pop dots I arranged two of these scraps, one sticking out from behind the photo and one overlapping on top.

I also added a small Tim Holts trinket peeking out the bottom of the photo.

Using pop dots I adhered this down to the background. To finish it all off I made loose circles around the photo to tie it into the background using white ink. Allow to dry.

Thank you so much for checking out another tutorial brought to you using the AMAZING Limor Webber Designs products! Everything was picked up from the online store. Pop in to check out what goodies are being released everyday!
